Intended audience
Aspiring operators/operators of companies operating in the wind sector or in sector connected to it.
Pre-requisites
All participants of a GWO training course shall create a WINDA profile on the Global Wind Organisation website in order to obtain an identification code (ID WINDA) which must be provided upon registration.
In addition, participants of the ART (Art Advanced Rescue Training) Combined course must have the following courses: GWO BST WAH (work at height), GWO BST FA (first aid) and GWO BST MH (manual handling).
Participants in the ART (Art Advanced Rescue Training) Combined module must be in good, self-certified psycho-physical condition. Should health conditions change during training, work activities must cease immediately unless the participant submits medical clearance.
The training centre is entitled to exclude a participant from the training or examination in the event of doubts about his or her health, fitness or aptitude for safety.
Objectives
This standard will enable participants to perform rescue operations of injured persons in a Wind Turbine Generator (WGT), using rescue equipment, methods and techniques superior to those of the GWO BST, Working at Height.
Course fee
990,00€ per participant at Kong premises (VAT exempt).
The confirmation of the course will be communicated to each participant 10 working days before the fixed date.
The course will be activated upon reaching the minimum number of 6 participants.

- Lowering/raising rescue system (Ref. module 1 and 2: lesson 6)
- Rescue exercise in the hub 1 and 2 (from the shovel) (Ref. Module 1: lesson 7)
- Rescue exercises in the hub 3 and 4 (from the spinner) (Ref. module 1: lesson 8)
- Evacuation of a wounded person from the nacelle to the base of the tower (Ref. module 2: lesson 7)
- Rescue from a confined environment (Ref. module 2: lesson 8)
- Rescue from the base (Ref. module 2: lesson 9)
- Recovery (Ref. module 2: lesson 10)
- Single rescuer (Ref. module 3 and 4: lesson 7)

PPE and Log Book
Participants are required to wear comfortable and functional training clothing, safety shoes.
At the beginning of the course, the teacher will evaluate the suitability of the footwear; if the footwear is not suitable, the participant will be excluded from the course.
Who has already the Kong Log Book, should bring it in order to update.
Checks and evaluation
Participants will be assessed on the basis of learning outcomes by direct observation during training and final written test.
Teaching material
The necessary documentation will be provided for the in-depth study of the topics covered.
Teaching methodology
The courses are conducted with an interactive method, in order to involve the participants, stimulate their interest, encourage discussion on practical cases from their experience.
This allow the course contents to be adapted to the needs of the participants themselves.
Attendance certificates and participants’ evaluation
Participants who, in addition to have attended at least 90% of the hours scheduled for the module, have successfully passed the learning tests, will be issued a certificate valid for the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) standard.
Duration of the GWO certificates of attendance
Modules ART-H ed ART-N of the combined GWO ART are valid for 24 months.
Single Rescue modules do not expire.
Payment procedure
Bank transfer within two days of receipt of the course confirmation.
Registration will only be officially confirmed upon receipt of the fee.
Cancellation
In case of cancellation Kong S.p.A. will retain
- 50% if the cancellation is made within 5 working days before the beginning of the course
- the entire fee if the cancellation is made from the fourth working day before the beginning of the course, at the beginning of the course or after the course has started.
Any absences for health reasons only entitle the fee to be suspended if documented.
